PLASSON Mechanical fittings work by using a split ring to grip the pipe within the fitting body. Once fitted, the captive O-ring is positioned around the pipe to provide an instant water-tight seal.

Tightening the grey nut ensures a secure hold to the pipe. The grip and seal will strengthen under increasing pressure and tensile load, leaving the pipe to burst or neck long before the fitting fails.
