BURGESS HILL, West Sussex – Last week marked a significant milestone for PLASSON as they made their first appearance as exhibitors at Utility Week Live, the UK’s leading exhibition for utilities. A hub of innovation, Utility Week Live is the focal point for the industry bringing together thousands of professionals for two days of collaboration at the NEC in Birmingham, showcasing cutting-edge technologies and solutions for the energy and water sectors.
Participation at the event aimed to redefine PLASSON’s image in the UK market, steering it away from the perception of being solely a manufacturer of small mechanical compression fittings. This was a strategic move to highlight the company’s significant strides in innovation over the last 60 years into other polyethylene pipe joining solutions, as well as present to visitors their presence on a global scale.
The stand at the event featured several products that captured the attention of attendees. Taking centre stage was PLASSON’s Specialist Electrofusion solutions, including electrofusion saddles and couplers for large diameter water and gas pipe up to 1200mm. Also exhibited was their unique Adjustable Elbow and Sensor Saddle which prompted thought and discussion.
Beyond electrofusion, PLASSON’s MCP System demonstrated how mains water supply can be distributed and metered in a compact and cost-effective manner within multi-occupancy buildings. Additionally, their reusable gas fittings, branded PlassGas, stood to mimic bypass and purging applications as carried out by gas network operators. The exclusive range of barrier fittings caught the eye of passersby for being certified for use on all leading brands of barrier pipe.
